I didn't like this much at all.


It never had the right feel to it. I'm not saying it has to be crimson tide quality, but it just seemed offensive really.

The Bad:
The military bearing, the dress code, the terminology, it's way too lax. It's just embarrassing and offensive to any sailor. I mean these were real people and it makes them look weak and disrespectful...it's artificial. I can't imagine what other branches might think about the USN after seeing this film. Lastly, one of those fake southern accents (the MCPO)is atrocious. I know there are Canadians and Brits in the cast with a Danish director but if you can't fake it then don't do it. He's practically unintelligible. Not to mention that officer of the deck MCPO at the end that looks like he just turned 20!

The Good:
The special effects were top notch and the ship felt real.
