I have seen a lot of movies but here we got a movie with the most boring plot and bad score and oh i almost forgot the characters, such a losers so why care?
The Only thing i thought was great, was that the DVD`s "making of" if you saw that you probably heard the music too so if you did you did hear a cue from The Firm and why are that so great, In this movie we have Sydney Pollack in a part and as you know Sydney Pollack directed "The Firm" hahahaha
By the way i hope that they NEVER do a sequel/remake to this one
If you like to think, soak it up, if not stick to mindless action films. This is hollywood with a brain.
COULDNT SAY IT BETTER MYSELF...SORRY THIS ISNT ANOTHER SPECIAL EFFECTS, GRATUITOUS SEX AND VIOLENCE FEST... You see us as a brain, an athelete, a basket case, a princess, and a criminal.
Can someone please explain to me why this is a good movie??? I found it quite boring as well, but was kinda tired, so maybe i was too tired and missed something important. What did I miss???? The plot seemed to "thicken" so unintelligently. Things were happening in the movie for no apperent reason. And by the end of the film, you're caught wondering why we even care about these two main characters.

I wish people would stop patronising those who think a hollywood-movie-with-a-brain is boring. Doesn't suggest at all that they are somewhat thick and watch only idiotic mindless movies. I found Changing Lanes quite boring myself. I think the strong ethic morals portrayed from the movie is great but it really lacked dramatic atmosphere. A yawner
Watch the movie again, and I mean actually WATCH it aigain, and you will see, that there was A LOT of dramatic atmosphere. And that's also meant for all those people that sit in their couch and let the TV do thei work ( Zombies!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! %-( )
I recently watched it again, and I agree. Although the idea is interesting, I think the film itself could have been better. Then again, life if often boring, so perhaps this was actually more realistic than interesting movies!
"I know that someone, somewhere, will read this and think, 'F*cking bastard.'" - Orlando
Good point, reminds me of "Ghost World", quiet and non action packed...just like life but still a great movie.
But although movies are supposed to be realistic as possible, they are still movies...entertainment. But I guess what people find entertaining may vary.
Well, everybody has their own opinion. I saw it last night and thought it was pretty good. My movie shame is that I thought The Godfather was boring, but I think a lot of my other favorite movies are intelligent...American Beauty, Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, etc. Of course, I think the idea is that, if you feel so passionately about a movie boring you that you go to a message board just to tell everyone what a boring movie it was, they assume you completely loathe applying any brainpower whatsoever to your screenings of choice. Strange, I guess.
Yeah you definitely didn't pay attention. And didn't give the movie your full attention and actually try to care about the characters. And I'm sorry that's your fault not the movie's. Try to watch it again with more patience and insight.
I thought this movie was boring also. The makers didn't really do anything to draw you in. If you make a movie like this you need good characters and that's something this movie didn't have. I enjoy good dramas too, I am an action buff, but usually I'm not bored with these kind of movies, but I'm with Rodger on this one, it was boring!

i agree with stueygill, although theres no need to use capitals it just labels you as an idiot straight away.
i didnt even get to the end of this film because i was so bored, not sure if it had anything to do with watching two superb movies (Amelie and City Of God) the day before but in comparison it was so so so boring.
And i'm pretty sure if i hadn't watched the other two masterpieces i still would've bored me as much. i was so let down, especially by Jackson. I knew Affleck was going to be crap so I suppose he lived up to AND exceeded expectations, why do people keep putting him in movies?? It's not as if he's even good-looking either. But, back to the film, I was expecting a thought-provoking plot, decent dialogue and some climatic scenes. Instead what I got was a pretty weak plot, really weak dialogue and scenes that started badly and got worse. I felt nothing for the characters, and couldnt care less if Jacksons character got his kids back.
I was also really confused at the scene where Jackson beats up the two advertising guys, was he supposed to be venting out some frustration? Because I couldn't feel any frustration or reason for him to do this.
Someone please try and persuade me to watch the whole film because I don't like being unfair to films, especially one that I had been wanting to watch for ages...
I disagree with stueygill and im not sure if he should be taken seriously as the above poster commented that its labels you as an idiot right away to write in caps. The movie was really good the acting was good the plot the action everything was good. Of course maybe it was boring at some scenes but i can get through that
i don't have much to say about "Changing Lanes" (which I will admit was not the most fascinating thing ever, but still very good) i do have to agree with darrell about stueygill. not only do capitals label you an idiot, the excessive use of exclamation points does as well. just some food for thought.
Oh please- Affleck's character goes from whining about corrupt practices at his law firm to trying to kill someone after doing everything else to ruin the man's life. What's so great about such pathetic hypocrisy? "Embezzlement- bad, murder- good"- great theme for a so-called intelligent film.
I'm with you partner. I'm really glad I only rented it. Even SLJ was a disappointment. Is this supposed to be thought-provoking? I seriously doubt brains that can be provoked to think by crap like this. If anyone can point out one original thought in this entire movie, he/she will be my hero for life (or at least for a few days).
Sometimes I seriously doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion!
