I saw this movie in theatres with my dad and brother when I was 15. I was bored out of my mind and thought it was way too long. My brother was 12 at the time so I can't even imagine how bored he was. Our favorite movies at the time were action movies from the 90's. However, I saw this on TV a few months ago and I'm watching it again now and it's a very good movie. The acting and attention to detail is high quality and although there's not a lot of "action" in the shootout/car chase sense of the word, it's so interesting that I don't find it hard to follow. I can see why younger people would be bored with it but I understand now why it won so many awards. I would say if you're not old enough to understand how important money is and how much it sucks when you don't have any, you probably won't enjoy this movie.

Just watched it for the first time and I'm 16, I loved it. I've seen hundreds of films at this made my all-time favorites list at Number 3. I just thought it was absolutely outstanding in every aspect. Never a dull moment, I was entertained throughout its entirety. I don't care much for action like you did though, I prefer great storytelling.

I love rumors! Facts can be so misleading, where rumors, true or false, are often revealing.

I first saw it as an adult, and loved it. As movies have come and go it has remained in my Top Ten. What's amazing about it is that it's....seamless. Perfectly executed but never paint-by-numbers or perfunctory. The performances, pacing, drama, humor, character development, pathos, suspense, all unfolds without a hitch. I was never bored. And it's unique. There is no other film like it that I know. It's truly genre-bending.

The acting is superb. It's touching, fascinating, nostalgic, a bit cynical, real but with a touch of fantasy. This is DiCaprio's best performance IMO. It's insane this guy had to get inside a dead horse naked to FINALLY get the Oscar he deserved.

Every time I come across it, I have to keep watching.

It's still in my Top Ten.

Hell, how did they make CHECK FORGING so compelling?

Interesting, I saw it when I was around 14ish too. Been in my top 3 ever since
