Does RVD (Claw) die in this?

I think I remember him stating he did in an interview, but I wasn't sure. If he does die, hows it happen?

He does die, I forget how but he gets his ass kicked by the Black Mask after turning into this giant squid thing.

Most disappointing death in the movie. He's turned into his monster form and comes up through the torn roof of a bus, then Black Mask jumps onto the roof from above and apparently the bump on the head was enough to do him in.
