romanticized the victim

this was a very good story but was not entirely true. the woman who was killed certainly did not deserve t be murdered by tom capano, but she pretty much walked in eyes open to this situation. a good catholic girl sleeping with a married man who has a couple of kids, what did she think was going to happen. further they depicted her starting a relationship with another guy before she was murdered, in fact, this never happened, it was plot device to give her more good qualities. like they say, if you want to play you gotta pay.

Anne Marie had started to move on and she did indeed meet another man that she was staring to have a serious relationship with. I don't know were you are getting your facts. The movie was quite accurate to the case that I followed closely, like many people did.

Lets look at the facts...An emotionally needy woman, struggling with a variety of disorders and deep issues of abandonment is so convinced no one can love her. So she believes what a charismatic sociopath tells her and lets herself be taken in by him. Well, obviously she deserved to die!!

Nobody said that the choices she made were wise, but Tom Capano was a calculating scumbag who had a number of affairs, including one with a private school headmistress for 20+ years. Maybe he should have killed her too. Jerk.

You're way off. She had broken off with Tom and was dating a man named Michael Scanlon but Capano was stalking her. No, you shouldn't date a married man, but it's not reasonable to think you might get murdered for it. Also, Capano could be very persuasive and had had many affairs...he was an expert at convincing women that his marriage was over.

This is one of those "It's the victim's fault but I don't have the balls to say that so I'll just say it indirectly."

Money isn't the root of all evil. Love of money is.
