are you being serious?Dude.......it's because she was of asian decent.

Lol, I didn't think she was Asian either. Her name is Bianca Smith, I can not find any info on her, but she isn't Asian.
shareIf I had to guess, I'd say the use of calling her a "Chinawoman" was supposed to illustrate ignorance on the part of the townspeople. "She's got dark hair and almond eyes; she must be Chinese". It's not uncommon for culturally ignorant people to call all people of east Asian descent Chinese. (Not unlike how many in America refer to all South American immigrants as "Mexican", which always annoyed me when used in reference to my Argentinian/Peruvian/Columbian neighbors.)
Of course, looking at her, I wouldn't guess Biance Smith to be Korean, Vietnamese or Japanese either. My guess is the original script called for a girl of Chinese descent, and Bianca's exotic appearance qualified her as "close enough". Who knows.
Except that she herself said she was Chinese. When one of the townsfolk called her a "Chinaman" she said "Chinawoman"!
And yes, I thought the same thing. She certainly didn't look at all Chinese.
Perhaps she was being sarcastic, mocking their ignorance with a false show of feminism?
Of course, at this point it's been more than a year since I saw the movie, so my memory is quite grainy.
Dude, the Chinawoman is not the issue here...oh and Chinawoman is not the preferred nomenclature; "Asian American," please.
shareActually that is what this post is about. As for calling her Chinawoman, that was what she was called in the movie.
sharejohn sit there and be quiet your out of your element...

Dude, the Chinawoman is not the issue here

UNCOMPROMISING ON UNDERGROUND FILTH SINCE '1982
This thread sucks.
shareIf so, why not tell us what you think?
sharewow......so she isn't asian because:
1) she doesnt look it
and
2) her last name is smith?
so what, all asian people have to have asian last names? you all do realize many asian people were born and raised in north america and as such end up with non asian names right? lol
and besides, she looked asian to me. my guess is that she's probably half because it isn't overtly obvious but you can still see it.
i still can't believe all the posts using her last name as proof that she wasn't...wow....that's just sad and scary. lol
"that's just sad and scary. lol"
You're right, that is funny.
Sad, scary and hilarious!
Ok, Anyone else?
