Does anyone remember an episode, probably in the late 80s/early 90s that stressed the importance of washing, illustrating the point with a character in silhouette called "Dirty Jack"?
Scared me as a kid, I'd like the confirmation that I didn't imagine the whole thing.
hahah, no you're not imagining I remember that too. There was a song too, all I can remember of it is "now little jack is not a disgrace, he washes his hands and he washes his face" I wish I could find this show again, I loved it as a kid.
shareI have this on video, I think I got it for my 4th or 5th birthday. It's called "Sooty and Superdog" or something like that. It has the dance episode, the water episode (which has the Dirty Jack song) and Superdog, where Sweep dreams he is a superhero. I can't remember the lyrics, but if I watch the video I'll come back and let you know! Not sure how good the video is now, though, I watched it to death when I was little.

Thank God the whole thing wasn't some manifestation of my darkest fears, played out as a faux Childhood memory. I think the video I had also had a special appearance from Duncan Goodhew, the swimmer. He fascinated me as a kid as he lost his hair when he fell out of a tree. I always assumed that he fell out of it, and when he picked himself up all his hair was on the floor.
shareWow! That brings back some memories. I also have that one on video, as well as 'Sooty out and about'. I have ahd them since I was really young. I am hoping to buy a DVD recorder in the next few weeks and record all of the old videos on to DVD's.
