The fact that Maria Sofia became a huge star from the "Young Larry" shows actually tracks in our modern society.
Perhaps it was just done for the absurdity of it but it could also be a commentary of the state fame today.
She is shown to have no talent, no sense of comedic timing, no self awareness and just blurts out random incoherent thoughts and perpetuates absurdity for the sake of absurdity appealing to the lowest common denominator. This is the profile of the modern social media or reality tv star.
It's almost like we live in a world today where someone like Maria Sofia would make it big on you tube, tik tok or some garbage cable reality show.
