S09 was meh. So that's Larry's aftertaste.
However, he made great TV for 8 seasons, so thank you Larry David!

shareI really liked it, some great stuff in this last season, I got some big laughs. I really felt it was the best season since the early ones.
One thing about this last episode I don't get, is how Larry ever expected to make it to the wedding on time. They have their duel before the paintball event even started, and as they were taking their paces, the bride was already walking down the aisle. That means there was never enough time to do both! There's no way he could have even set aside an hour for the paintball match.
This was the last season, right? He only had the one season left on his contract?
shareHe's done, that's for sure.
shareI agree, I think Larry is out for good. The way he wrote the last episode pretty much confirmed it. As he was running for his life, his last words were "It's over!", and even did one of those cartoonish-style endings. "Seinfeld" (1989 - 1998) also ran for nine years before concluding.
I would say this season was pretty mediocre. He was rehashing a lot of his older material. The way it was filmed seemed to be a tad different too. It just didn't feel like "CYE". Even the fifth season (worst one IMO) is still miles ahead.
But, hilarious nonetheless. Even at 70 years old, the guy still has it. I'm grateful for the entertainment he brought us.
I just can't believe it has been a good 17 years or so when it first started. I remember sitting in my living room watching it on my old 27" CRT TV recording episodes with my VCR. Seems like time just kinda flew.
Well, maybe not: http://www.ismyshowcancelled.com/article/2017-12-14/curb-your-enthusiasm-renewed-for-season-10/
Either HBO is just going to keep the show renewed or Larry actually wants to keep working on "CYE". Maybe the tenth season will not be as mediocre as this one was.
They're filming it now. Just read about it. Definitely another season coming.
shareIt was pretty weak but it had its moments. Like Larry freaking out at the funeral and becoming the Burr (a personal hero of mine) to Miranda's (fruitbowl) Hamilton.
I doubt he'll ever top seasons 4 and 7.
Just finished binge-watching the entire thing. Gotta say I liked it - the Fatwa!! ending was great.
Marty was more hilarious than ever and also enjoyed Susie/Jeff more here than season 8. Leon still good; especially the FIC'd up and his description of junk touching the toilet water.. lol wtf
The stand-in Larry wedding speech is the highlight for me... that was comic genius! two words. "separate bathrooms"
