Past the expiration date ... or I hope they led with the worst episode

Just watched the new CYE episode and there are some funny-ish moments, but somehow it feels kind of stale. Maybe Larry David lost his sense of humor when he did that not funny bit on SNL about being Bernie Sanders.

Why did Alex Baldwin of all people take off with his expression of Trump, and Larry David's portrayal of Bernie Sanders fall flat. Maybe Larry got so rich he became like Donald Trump and had his sense of humor atrophy?

Also ... way too many shots of Larry in the shower. The man looks unhealthy and that never makes for a funny show ... what's funny about seeing a formerly funny old guy disintegrate before our eyes. What were these people thinking.

And the Suzie character ... she looks younger now ... and does not fit the show or her mean character. This is a last pass for cash to pay for the old folks home, seems like to me.

I think HBO got foisted to continue with this season that died once ... like the "Walking Dead" I think this show needs a mercy killing.

All in all the thing that wears on people is that Larry David's character of himself is just unrelentingly unpleasant, and after a while there is not cute in the funniness any more.

I'm surprised at how ageist a lot of criticism is. I didn't think they looked too much older at all.

Some of what you said is correct though. There was much less subtlety in the situations and Larry's reactions to them. He was just mean most of the time, whereas before you could easily side with him in 90% of his conflicts.

I felt Larry tried too hard. His acting appeared forced or phoney at times, instead of being natural and flowing.

And there was far too much SHOUTING.

The scene at the end might've been funnier if Larry's disguise fooled the irate lesbian, instead of him crawling around on the floor.

I'll still watch it, hopefully it'll calm down.
