I was watching some of the last season and wondered what happened to Larry's wife, was she fired or she quit. How was she written out.

Basically Cheryl got tired of Larry being Larry, so she divorced him. She was on a jet airliner in a storm, and there was fear it would crash, so she called Larry to say goodbye. Larry had the cable repairman there when he got the call, so IIRC he put her on hold or something like that lol. That was the last straw for her.

He tried to get her back by casting her in the Seinfeld reunion (if you haven't seen season 7, you should really watch it). I won't spoil that any further.

She (Cheryl Hines) wasn't fired, she just went on to other things and I don't think they really had a good way to include her in the later seasons. Also, LD had divorced IRL and I guess it made sense to him to parallel that in the show.
