Again, IMDB ratings and critics - i avoided this movie

For many years I was intrigued by this movie, mainly because of the cool premise of being an FA (during my time, only the best people can be an FA - you need a great body, good grades in college and whatnot).

Due to the low ratings and criticism I decided to forgo watching this movie, 10 years later i watch it and it is actually pretty cool. It is a pretty much informative movie for girls who think they can amount to nothing and like the idea of travel, flying and learning to be independent.

What I did not like was the sort of manipulation on Ted's part. Reminds me of that 70's movie with Diana Ross. Man decides how a woman lives and asks her to choose between her work/ambition and her love life.

It's a nice little rainy day, guilty pleasure, fluff-kinda, girl flick.

I did the same--I didn't watch it, and then one day I was home with nothing on and caught it. It's not academy award material, but it isn't all-crap either.

I don't see it at all like Ted making her choose. First of all she put the decision on herself, and anyway it's her who would be away most of her life travelling, not him. So obivously it's her choice. What's he supposed to do? Drop his legal job and become an FA or pilot himself and make the airline travel them together always?

Sometimes even the critics get it wrong.
