Gwyneth Not A Fan of Movie

I read an interview where she said she thought the movie sucked- "A Veiw From My Ass" was how she referred to it. I guess she thought she'd do a lightweight fun movie but it didn't turn out as good as she hoped. Lots of people on here seemed to enjoy it though, so maybe she shouldn't worry.

reply

I think it turned out differently than what was on the script and what was shot on film. They did a lot of reworking post-9/11 and delayed the film. She may have liked the original concept and thought what it turned into sucked.

reply

I'm seeing it for the first time now on cable. Not a bad movie, but after reading your post I wonder what the movie might have looked like if they didn't re-edit it.

reply

agreed. this edited down version was not the movie she probably signed on for.

the movie is harmless but flawed, and i think gwyneth was miscast. she's fine, but as someone mentioned, an actress like reese witherspoon would've been more charismatic and funny in the role.

reply

I liked it. Gwyneth should lighten up.

reply

I read quite a lot of the crew called it that during filming.

reply

I'm a little PO'd that Gwyneth did this just for the money, and bashed it. I LOVED this film! Since I don't know what was the intended version before this final film, I only have this version to go by, and I LOVED IT! This film teaches you a lot of lessons - how to deal with people, happiness, and love.

reply

I really liked this movie as well. I am not a big Gwyneth fan but I liked her in this movie. I think her acting strength is in romantic comedies, as I enjoyed her acting in Shallow Hal, and Sliding Doors as well.

reply

same here, i enjoyed sliding doors and shallow hal too

She's a decent actress so I'm not surprised by her attempt to distance herself from this embarrassing crapfest.

reply

Of course she did not like it..it's a harmeless little sweet comedy and she is a tight ass elitest who truly thinks her proverbial shiat does not stank. Too bad, I have always thought she was a wonderful actress..but lately she is just too friggin mahvelous and completely out of touch with the rest of the world are not besties with JayZ, Beyonce, and married to a milqtoast equally tight ass with no sense of humor rock star..and btw..I like Coldplay..but he is still a vanilla slurping piece of milqtoast.

You pipple mek my ass twitch

reply

I'll bet that she didn't have any trouble cashing her paycheck though, did she?

reply

If you think Chris Martin of Coldplay has no sense of humour, then I refer you to their song 'Life in technicolor ii'; it's the funniest music video I have ever seen bar none, even better than Tenacious D's 'Tribute'.

Go to youtube right now and watch it.

reply

I agree with her, I ended up changing the channel. I hate doing that with a movie but this was garbage.

reply

Yeah, this was an odd choice for her as an actress, given that she established herself as an A-list, elite talent in the late-90s. You almost wonder if she thought the film was going to somehow be different. Then again, she has shown several odd career moves, such as doing films like "Shallow Hal" and becoming a country music performer.

reply

Well, she could have let someone else who actually wanted the job do it, or at least not been so crabby about it.

You're right, though...she has become fairly unbearable.

reply

I actually didn't know she could be this funny. She could have done more funny movies instead of all serious ones like Country Strong or Shakespeare in Love.

I also think they could have cast Reese Witherspoon in this.

reply

"Gwyneth"???? What are you, her pal?

reply

Actually this and role in Iron Man convinced me to became Gwyneth fan. She always looked so stiff, like a Ice Queen, and in this movie she so available for regular people.
Besides, she shouldn't care about what other people think of her or if her role will be criticized. She should enjoy her work and do whatever she wants to do next.

While I haven't seen her oscar-winning role, I haven't seen a movie of hers where she displayed wonderful acting talents. Maybe she thinks that she's above it all, but she clearly is not, and her choice of movies proves it. Too bad because I enjoyed this movie, her presence notwithstanding.

reply

We all do have our preferences: some love Kristen Stewart, and some not. It's same with other actors. But I think when it comes to female, we, the viewer are waaaay too harsh.
