What was the point of Molly jumping off the bridge??

Was she trying to kill herself and so despressed that she didn't even notice that the distance from the bridge to the water was no higher then probably 8 feet?? It was hillarious whatever she was trying to do.

She was trying to kill herself, but not really. Because her character Molly thinks very child-like, she's very dramatic and extreme, so "killing herself" was her way of dealing with the Neal situation.

I know that makes no sense, but you know what I mean.

I always cringe at that part, because in real life wouldn't jumping from that bridge into such shallow water result in injuring your legs?
Especially if you land on your feet like she did?

She was trying to kill herself. She gets very emotional, very easily. It's like a 12-year-old girl living on her own. She can't deal with things the same way a normal woman her age would have.

I am not sure how that would have worked, either. The water didn't seem deep at all and it was contaminated (so, naturally, she got sick after being in there).

Remember the woman who went skydiving, her parachute didn't open, and she landed in mud and was perfectly fine? That was a lot higher than a bridge... maybe the bottom was really muddy which made sort of a cushion for Molly to land on?

i always saw that as some weird attempt of trying to get rid of her problems but never as a suicidal attempt until i read this just now and it actually does make sense she would be trying to kill herself. anyways, i always laugh when the lady tells her that the water is contaminated.

I say THAT's the point. We all know that this is a film rather than real life. I claim that the writers are purely interested in laughs and not in reality.

i thought molly jumped in because she was trying to make herself sick so ray would have someone to look after and something to distract her from her lack of parents
