I was waiting for a very bad film

I started watching this cause I had nothing else to do on a Friday night (I also discovered that T.V on fridays sucks big time).

Well, the thing is I was judging this movie from its trailer, which I had seen years ago. And I thought it was just a silly comedy with cheap laughs.

It had its laughs, but it was mostly a tragic comedy and a romantic comedy about the love among two extremely depressed young girls. And the movie actually had good moments of pure cinema: when they leave the teacupps at Conney Island, I was amazed by the fact that they don't say a single word (the usual tric). And of course the ending: a musical experience: the least I would expect for a movie like this.

The thing is this movie is better than it was promoted, and much better than I expected.

The trailer sucked big time. It didn't sell the actual movie, it sold a movie that does not exist.

and

i agree with everything you said,
by gods' will i was a tiny part of the film,
but had i not been,
i think that the trailer would not have pushed me to see this movie.

This movie is better than it would appear to be. The promotion for it sapped up the "teen girl comedy" aspects and failed to represent the darker aspects of it. It has a lot of interesting things going on in it that you don't find in a lot of "chick flicks", you know? It's not an entirely happy-go-lucky movie, and while it does end up ending on a positive note, there is a lot of dark and truly depressing stuff in it. It's a fairly good movie as far as I'm concerned in its own right and the performances are really impressive as well.

Well I guess you wasn't much disappointed then ? Pretty worthless movie. :-((

I enjoyed it, too. Ms. Fanning is a young woman now and Ms. Murphy has passed away. But I did felt that the ending was rushed.

Clark's destiny = Superman, Lex Luthor & Lois Lane.

It had A LOT more depth than I expected....

It warmed my heart and made me cry.

A lie has many variations... the truth, none.

Yeah, that sums up my views as well.

I agree. I watched it last night because I was very bored. The trailer was truly misleading and I thought it would be a typical chick flick, sort of a cross-breed between "What a girl wants" and "The game plan". I started with very low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. It was way more meaningful than the trailer projected. What I loved the most about is that the theme it followed frequently turn movies into a melodramatic mush but this movie had a much darker and poignant treatment. Also, both Brittany and Dakota excelled in this movie.

by the muddy puddle,
you were so polite and proper,
i dragged you down the dirt and created a monster,
didnt know what you had hiding inside behind your eyes,
and that you were actually in control all the time,
now from the mud i can't get out.
