Holly's Fight with Boyfriend?

It feels like there is a scene missing. Like everyone is mad at Holly's boyfriend, and Nat comes over, and the boyfriend shows up and Nat is like "What are you doing here?" And Marina was comforting Holly over him, I think. Did the boyfriend cheat on her? Is that why Nat came over, because he thought it was over between her and her live-in boyfriend?

I didn't see any deleted scenes on the DVD. It seemed a bit odd and I had trouble piecing it together the first time I watched it.

Nat dislikes Holly's boyfriend because he is jealous of him. The boyfriend came around pissed and looked at Nat and went 'what are you doing here' and then Nat replies in kind. They don't like eachother because they are jealous of one another that's all.

Everyone isn't mad at Carl. Nat comes over to Holly's place because he offered to read her manuscript at the party, and Holly took him up on that offer.

Nat dislikes Carl because he's not right for Holly and also because he's jealous. Carl shows up at Holly's place without any prior notice, spoiling Nat's visit. Nat doesn't even remember to pick up Holly's manuscript.

Carl doesn't live with Holly.
