question about room mate fight (spoiler)

Why does Marina's room mate get angry after she comes home after being out (sleeping with the tutor)? Is it because he knows she's slept with him due to the time she came home at?

If that's the case then why didn't Holly find out as she shares the same house? (plus her room door was wide open and Holly sneaks in later when she's asleep for her dress)

Then just after that, Marina and the room mate are fighting and she trashes some of his stuff.
He calls her a selfish shallow slut.

Are they are fighting over the same thing he was mad at earlier?

Am I missing something? It just seemed to come out of nowhere.

That's not Marina's roommate, it's her boyfriend. You see him in an earlier scene, at the start of the 80s segment, when Holly goes up to Marina's bedroom, and he's in the bed too.

Jeez how did I miss that one? I'll need to watch again. Are you sure? It certainly makes sense though. I remember the guy but didn't think it looked like him

Yes, I'm sure! :) Dark hair, skinny frame. And I think they have a brief conversation about him when he leaves the room (during the bed scene).

I've only seen it once but it's clearly the guy from earlier.

She slept with loads of other men before I'm surprised he only now just found out.

His name's Ben. He's Marina's boyfriend. Holly says to Marina: "Ben's nice. You don't appreciate him."
