Unscripted part?

In the police station, after they're all taken in after the fight orchestrated by Claire's ex, there's dialog that feels improved to me. Jack/Adrien comments on the total Tina Turner wig they had on Pam Grier's character.

Jack: "I loved you in Mad Max."
Lt. Fox: "I like your nose."
Jack (to Charlie): "What's wrong with my nose?"
Charlie: "Nothing, kid."

It just felt like such a playful and natural thing between the actors that I wonder if it was scripted or not. It either wasn't, or it was just really well played.
