About the Story

I love me some Zelda.. i own every game (excluding the first game boy one) and beat all those bad boys but was wondering why is the SNES one is called 'A Link to the Past?? and i was really upset aboutt the story of Wind Waker but even thoiugh your not Link its a badass game and the staory ties in Geniuosly.. First off, you ARE Link in Wind Waker, and yes, the story to it is way cool. As long as you do lots of things in the game and find the cool connections (story wise) to it and Ocarina.
MOVING ON....
There doesn't seem, to me, to be any real reason why this is called 'Link to the Past'. I know Ocarina of time wasn't really on the time slot at the release date of LttP, but don't you think having Ocarina being called LttP would be a bit more fitting? And then having Majora's Mask being called Ocarina of Time instead?
I understand that saying that will upset some, and then there will be those that see what I'm saying.

it's because LttP tells the story of how Link (technically the second Link, after OoT) meets Zelda. It's the same link as in the first two games and Links Awakening.

reply

It was called "A Link to the Past" because it's a pun and the original subtitle is censored. (The original subtitle is "Triforce of the Gods")

Actually, last time I checked the majority of theorists believe that the Link in A Link to the Past is different from the one in the NES Zeldas.

What you see actually makes some sense and would be pretty good. But, dealing with the title, I believe it's a simple thing to just relate the game to the title. The game is all about learning about history of Hyrule, the golden power, the descendants of the sages, Ganondorf and all the other stuff you learn. Basically. you learn about the past and Link, ironically, is the person that finds it out and is is the "Link" to the past. That's how I look at it. And it's this exact game that set up the basis for OoT, except for a few inconsistancies. This is just my thoughts thought.

I was wondering if the Oracle of ages and seasons games are the same link

reply

This game didn't set up the basis for OOT though, it takes place ages afterwards, as the events of OOT are told as an ancient legend in ALTTP's opening video.
