Yeah, and how is she going to pull him back up by herself.

If a truck is about to ram you from behind, just before it hits the rear, pull over into the other lane and hit the brakes.

When someone tells you to keep moving after you stop, keep moving.

When you finally got it right where you need it to be, keep on running it over until body parts separate or until the whole body is as flat as a pancake!

If you hear the song that the lady warns you about, don't just fiddle with the radio and wonder about it. Look around and see what is going on or get the hell out of there.

Turn on the brights for a better look at what you just ran over.

Get the hell out of the police station if you hear trouble.

Damn, I'm good.

The stupidest thing they did was not driving on and going back to investigate the church, but then again we'd have no movie lol

It did stretch believability even though Darry explains why he thinks they should go back, it doesn't quite ring true.

Perhaps there could've been more dialogue in the beginning to establish that Darry had some morbid fascinations and an inquisitive mind about such things and have Trish protesting a bit more strongly and Darry just insistent that they go back.

It wouldn't have taken more than a few minutes of screen time to establish these things and wouldn't have hurt the pacing. As it is, I just accept it as it's what pushes the plot into motion and it's a great movie otherwise.

How about: when you see a decapitated head lying on the road, don't wait around and watch while the killer slowly exits the car, goes to pick it up, and whistles a tune.

The pipe was on a steep angle but it wasn't a vertical drop, with her assistance he should've been able to pull himself back up.

You can see in several shots that the truck is swerving violently left and right. It wouldn't have worked.

They weren't driving a truck. Trish did run it over at-least 4 times, it's reasonable to think that was enough.

Trish didn't speak to the psychic on the phone, Darry did and he tried to warn Trish He was acting all panicky while she was trying to drive which created a bit of commotion as he's freaking out, seemingly about nothing. Seconds later the Creeper throws the cop's head on the roof.

He was squashed flat on the parts of his body that they ran over. Again, it was reasonable for them to assume they'd killed him.

When the power was cut off it caused a complete lockdown of all the doors. They were frantically searching for a way out.

I've given up on having any interest and forgotten that I wrote all that!

I still think they were stupid. After all, he or they got themselves killed.
