DID YOU THINK THE FATHER WAS JUSTIFIED?

I just read one of the reviews where someone said that they could see it from the father's point of view. I couldn't. If a child is not mentally ill I cannot understand why you would put them in a mental institute. He could have got him to speak to a drug counsellor etc etc. And why didn't the father check out the hospital first? He knew his son wasn't crazy yet he wouldnt listen to what his son reported to him when he first visited.

I found this film quite disturbing. I think I'm gonna go and watch a comedy now.
