Man, I'm feeling such grief over the loss of Sir Patrick. Farewell, sir!

RIP Sir Patrick. This month's is the first episode since he died, but apparently not the last appearance, as he recorded some other bits in the last few months. This had a short, but nice tribute of him and a few sign-offs from the last 55 years. Just watched it, and typing through slightly dewy eyes!

I just had a quick peek at the latest episode, I will watch it all at the weekend but it's nice, if not a little sad, to see the Gamesmaster one last time and to be wished a happy new year.

I just watched the February episode and frankly, even though the presenting ensemble they have now are doing a decent job, the show just isn't the same without Patrick. Patrick Moore was The Sky at Night. Even though he was obviously ill and very frail during his last few episodes, and therefore unable to contribute a great deal, he was still an enormous on-screen presence.

I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see the program lasting beyond this year unless they can find someone a little wacky to at least partially fill Patrick's shoes.

I just watched the Feb. episode as well and was thinking I wasn't so keen on the new girl until I got to thinking... well perhaps she's not so different from Sir Patrick :)

She's very enthusiastic and serious, maybe appearing a little brusque - not so different from Sir Patrick (at first appearances)?; but I'll bet she could rattle out a great tune on the xylophone - or probably something even more unusual and entertaining :D

I think the programme has a long future...

I'm sorry, but, I have to disagree, she is far too manic for me and there is almost a sense she got the job because of her presenting style being similar to Sir Patrick's, however, the style is what the parodies were of Sir Patrick by people like Mike Yarwood and Jon Culshaw, not like the real Sir Patrick, who was enthusiastic, but, not hyperactive. Maybe she will calm down once she settles into the job. I wish they would get rid of Paul Abel though, his nasty sarcasm towards other presenters really annoys me.
