I'm not sure how to explain this, but I got the feeling that Ben is "straighter" than most of the other guys, certainly straighter than Michael is. After all, he's masculine, strong (both physically and emotionally), a top, and has had sex with females before.

Yes he is quite masculine and the kind of guy that a guy would not come onto because people do not assume he is gay ever.
It is the same with me. Men don't come onto me since I don't appear gay but in other situations like a gay bar or club men men are a lot more comfortable trying.
Dont equate masculinity and strength with heterosexuality.
