Oooh, guns, guns, guns!

Man, the guns in this game are kick ass! You've got everything a person could want in this game and they even showed snapshots of the weapon you're using when selected, gave descriptions and you actually got to see the weapon in action.

I swear I loved all the guns in this game! My favorites were:

-Colt Pyton (with Maeda bullets! Guaranteed to stop any ANMC dead in their tracks, big or small. The poison keeps them from fighting back!)
-Silenced P88 with flashlight
-HK-MP5 with flashlight
-Assault rifle with multiple attachments (the stun part was cool and so was the flamethrower, but I loved the rocket launcher and javelin laser attachment the most)
-SP-12 shotgun
-AS-12 Shotgun (Firefly Shells and R. Slugs go great in this badboy)
-MM1 Grenade Launcher (never have to worry about reloading this weapon too much!)

But the weapon that takes the cake in this movie is the Railgun! I swear, with this bad boy, boss battles are a breeze! A few shots from this Master Blaster and the bosses are T.K.O'd! NMC's think twice before they screw with Aya when she has the Railgun! Best part is it's rechargable and the Golem borgs are nothing against this thing!

Did any of your enjoy the weapons in this game (or any listed above)? Please tell which one and which bosses or enemies you had fun using this stuff on.

You mean that revolver? Yeah, that gun was pretty cool (I remember they called it the Mongoose in the game!) Even with just the regular bullets you could kick serious ass.

I remember that. It was one of my favorite guns to use.
MM1 Grenade Launcher (never have to worry about reloading this weapon too much!)
Ah, yes. The good ol' MM1. I remember it costing a fortune to buy and I remember saving up every single bonus point I could get to buy it. In the end, it was worth it.

I never got to experience the Railgun (I did get to experience the gunblade - pretty sweet!) But from what I heard, it was a pain in the butt because you had to wait like a minute for it to charge up before you could fire it and that because it was so heavy, you couldn't really move a lot. Is it really as good as you said?

Well, I'm not gonna lie, the Railgun was a heavy son of a (bleep) and yes, it took a few seconds to a minute to reach full-power...by that time, some NMCs would've already gotten a hit in, so you'd have to stun em' with your powers first and then rock the hell out of em' with the Railgun! It's fun once you learn to master it in certain situations though...beware though, she has a hell of a recoil!

I agree with everything the o.p. had to say on this topic. Someone else raised a question about the charge time of the railgun. I don't think it was a minute, but it is a long time. The cool thing is that all you have to do is point it in the direction you want to destroy something. I find it works best upon FIRST entering a room. Most creatures don't notice you at first. Then by the time they do (with a few exceptions) ITS GAME OVER, MAN... for them.

Even with other games such as RE4, and Dino Crisis 2.
Personally I think PE2 still ranks has having one of the best line-up of weapons in any action game.

The only type of weapon missing in this game is a sniper rifle.

The Metal Gear Solid series is the only other series that has an excellent weapon selection.
(How can you NOT love the STINGER MISSILES?? )

Some of my favourites are:

- M4A1 + Hammer Attachment:
The most useful weapon for hte M4A1 if you're considering something for "defence". The Hammer will stun for damage, and knock down enemies, which then allows you to move out of the way and manouvre into a better position.

If you play bounty mode. You'll know why this weapon and attachment is extremely useful. The hammer attachment works on just about ANY enemy on the Dryfield stage, so it's a good thing that on Bounty Mode there is a Golem which drops this weapon early on in the game.

-M4A1 + Javelin Attachment:
RANGE!!! This weapon has range, and decent power. You can basically pick off any enemy from a distance with this. Plus this weapon has 60 charges.
It's rather expensive, so unless I'm playing on bounty mode (where you can get this for free) might as well just use the pike instead.

-M4A1:
The attachments are useless without the M4A1 (duh =P). It's a decent weapon.
Not as fast the M93R, but has more power. Plus, with the attachments it you ca use with it, it's the best multi-purpose weapon for regular enemy encounters where you're fighting enemies for EXP/BP.

- Mongoose:
A powerful Magnum. A regular bullet hit damages for about 50 -75 pts of damage. But if you get a critical, damage goes up to 150- 250!!
It's an excellent weapon, which unfortunately unless you're playing on Bounty Mode.. or unless you've unlocked it on replay mode .. you will have to intentionally get the "bad" ending in order to use it for your game.
I guess that's the only downside to this weapon.

- Grenade Pistol:
It's simple and effective. Easy as that.
Grenade Pistol is pretty much a required weapon, especially for some of the bigger bosses in the game.

- SP12:
A decent shotgun which you can get for Free.
AS12 is the best shotgun, but it's also rather expensive. SP12 is good if you just want a shotgun which does the job right.

M93R: Your starting weapon, and also one fo the most versatile weapons in the game. You can fire 3-shot bursts for more damage with lower chance of critical, or a 1 short burst with lower damage but higher chance of critical. It's a lightweight weapon which makes it easier to aim and load during battle.

M4A1+Pike: This is actually a very good attachment.
It looks cool, does decent damage, but problem is it runs out of fuel too quickly if you use it too often, so it forces you to be more conservative on it's use. Compared to the hammer and javelin attachments which have better ammo management.

Excellent choices Brandestoc! Very excellent indeed...I love the M4A1 too and the attachments that come with it. If anything, they need to bring this weapon and it's optional extras back in the third one. I only use the Pike attachment when I'm partnered up with Kyle though as it's more fun when your buddy has the same weapon as you.

I agree. I really have to thank Bounty Mode for introducing me to the M4A1. =)
I didn't use it on my first playthrough, but then when I first played Bounty Mode, I was getting all these M4A1 attachments so I just thought.. "hmm.. maybe I should try the M4A1" and I've been pretty happy with it.
The hammer attachment is sooo useful for the dryfield it's too bad you can't get it earlier on if you play the standard game.

Yeah I use the pike attachment when I'm with Kyle as well. It's pretty cool having two chars using the same weapon and BURNing everything in your path. =)
I really do like using the pike, but it's a pain cos it runs out of fuel much faster than the hammer and javelin, so recharging is a pain unless you limit it's usage.

If there's going to be a third PE game I hope they combine abit from the two previous games. I liked some of the RPG elements of the first game, plus the weapon and armour customisations. I also liked how the PE bar in the first game worked (it recharges itself), not to mention PE1 generally had better Parasite Energy moves to use.
The PE abilities in part 2 are fine, but they're abit generic compared to PE1 which also has abilies such as Haste, Regen, revive and Liberate. PE2 imo had better weapons. That's for sure!, and I liked how PE2 was more action oriented.

So yeah, if there's a PE3 hope it combines the best aspects of both games.
imo the action and weapons from Part 2 and the more in depth stuff such as customisation and better PE attacks from Pt1.
