Damien Jewan Lee should have been Oscar-nominated

Damien Jewan Lee (Vernon) should have been nominated for an Academy Award. His monologue in the bathroom is one of the best scenes I've ever seen.

Not only that, it's an absolute travesty that Tim Orr wasn't even nominated for his photography on this film.

Agreed, phenomenal camerawork.

He's still lookin' goood, eatin' them sandwiches all the tiiiime.

DGG went on record stating at the start of shooting that every actor who'd ever won an oscar was a bad actor. He apparently did this to initiate the mostly inexperienced young actors on the whole process. It's somewhere on the DVD.

agreed, his performance throughout was beautiful, and the monologue was stunning.

I wouldn't go that far - mainly because he doesn't have enough screentime to warrant it, in my opinion - but he WAS great! (No, I wouldn't have given Dame Judi Dench the Oscar for Shakespeare in Love, either!)
