Major plot hole (SPOILER)

When Victor calls Jack's mom on the phone he says that "Jack is an old friend" or whatever and keeps calling him Jack, his mom is responsive to that name. Now the problem with this is that 5 minutes later when they are in the hotel room, "Jack" tells Victor that isn't his real name and he isn't going to tell him his real name. I guess you could go waaaaay out on a limb and say his mom was in on it with him BUT then why would she give the info to him? Just so he can go kill him and try to get the money back.

If it wasn't for this plot hole, Victor would have never gotten any info from "Jack's" mom and she would have just told Victor he had to wrong number. Bottom line is that he wouldn't have gotten the information to find him and Jack probably would have gotten away.

actually, Jack didn't tell Vic that that wasn't his real name. I believe the conversation went like this:

Vic: "...alright Jack. If that's your real name. Is it? What's your real name?"
Jack: "Why should I tell you?"

Although this would appear as saying "my name isn't jack", Jack could just be saying that just to not cooperate.

I thought that the bigger plot hole was when Vic calls Jack and he's in Miami/LA and is saying how 'they're' all loving the idea. It's not really a plot hole i guess but one would expect Jack to mention to Vic that he was going out of town to propose the idea.

I thought this movie was terrible but for some reason my brother bought the DVD. In two of the deleted scenes, we see Jack go to Miami to visit his mother. His mother's name is Maria and she calls him Juan. They also converse in Spanish with one another. We find out that Jack is latino and grew up in Miami. He mentions his father as having been a drug dealer and dying when he was very young. Even though the movie sucked, I thought these two scenes would have made the movie alot better. They fill some serious plotholes in the storyline. I have no idea why they decided to cut these two scenes. In the movie we don't really learn anything about who Jack really is or why he screwed Vic over. They just ramble about how money is everything and that you have to be cuthroat in business.

screwed him over for the money perhaps? I don't think that is a bad reason, lol.

Well, yeah, that would've filled in some holes, but could also drag down the pacing.
So "Jack"'s name is really "Juan". well Juan is Spanish for John, and Jack is a nickname for John, so it's feasible his mom figured it out.
