A side of the story seldom seen...

Though Roots does portray some of the truth about the fact that African peoples were responsible for Africans being enslaved, this is the first one that focuses attention on this little-known truth. No one is guiltless in the slave trade, it was Africans that handed over Africans as slaves.

However, long, long before — if you grant that the past Egyptian kings were Black — Black peoples were the most egregious slave owners in history. On the backs of thousands upon thousands of Jewish slaves (and others) the mighty pyramids were built. Entire generations were wiped out to sate the vociferous desire of the Pharaohs for shameless self-promotion and remembrance. When the slave population grew too large and they feared their numbers in a revolt, scores of infants and children were put to the sword.
