Where to buy British version?

I only recently discovered Bob the Builder at a thrift store and bought it for my little two year old who loves it. I noticed while I watched it with him that the phrasing was decidedly British and it occurred to me that this must be a British TV show originally. I see now on this website that this is the case. I would much rather hear the British version (I much prefer the British version of Thomas the Tank engine too!) Where can I find it? Does anyone know? (EBAY?)

thanks will do
DO you mean to say (pardon my ignorance) that dvds made in different countries won't necessarily work in my dvd player?

DVD's are set into regions according to where they are made. To play the DVD's from a different region your DVD player would need to be multi-region or you would need to be able to break the region code.

I don't think many DVD players in the USA have multi region. When my husband and I were buying a new DVD player we asked the store and they said they were hard to find and expensive.

Australia also uses the British version of Bob the Builder. I originally from there and I was really surprised to watch Bob the Builder with a different accent. I'm sure you could get it shipped from either Australia or the UK but you will need to ensure your DVD player is compatable. You could try looking at the Australian Ebay if you want.. www.ebay.com.au

Hope that helps

I'm from Australia too and am living in America at the moment and was shocked at how different both Thomas and Bob sound when not in an Enlish accent, as a result I cannot watch either of them haha.

It's odd that multi-region DVD players are expensive over here in Australia you can get one for like $50 USD and it's very reliable too, and most of the DVD players in Aus are multi-regional now as well.

Good luck in getting the original Bob the Builder.

FYI, if you check sites like videohelp.com, you can find links to hackable players. I have a Philips DVP-642 that I paid about $50-60 for at Target, and with a few keystrokes on the remote, the region coding is unlocked. It'll play PAL discs out of the box. It will also play CDs and DVDs of MP3s and DivX video files. The thing plays everything. Amazing how the cheapest players always seem to have the most features :)

Greetingz The-Only-Kate,
I have located a U.S. based region-free DVD distributer at http://www.world-import.com/all-zone-code-free-dvd-players.htm

They have a large selection of Region-Free DVD players in a wide range of prices.

Hope this helps,
