Why the 5.4/10?

Now, I don't necessarily care if a show like Bob the Builder gets a score such as that, well I do care in the sense of curiosity. I find it fascinating to see what a kid's show does wrong. The idea of an educational children's show like Bob the Builder has a simple purpose, to educate kids on certain thangs like I assume what kids could learn from Bob the Builder is simple stuff sharing, caring, don't be a jerk, and all that jazz. Of course with the construction motif you're gonna learn about teamwork, and problem-solving as well. We heard it all from conspiracists that television mind controls the youth into worshipping the devil from Pokemon and all dat. So the fact that an educational show does a bad job at teaching kids intrigues me, how could they teach kids on what's meant to be helpful is actually harmful.

Like does Bob teach the kids that it's okay to drill your eyes out!? Personally, I think that's a great moral because you can get a killer eyepatch like Snake Plisken!

Or was it because Elton John made an appearance and the world wasn't ready to see his 2003 fat butt to be in claymation and the fact that his beautiful voice blew the heads off of 2000s kids? I mean I remember the Elton John episode, I was there, I remember my eight years old blowing up. So yes, I don't have a head. Highlander is a fantasy people.

JOKES ASIDE, the reviews on the site has glowing reviews, except for bandcrsh who went along the lines of

""Bob The Builder" is very, very, very stupid. Wendy is stupid, too, and so is the rest of the gang, there are all stupid, I like to see those idiots on South Park. Nick Jr., please, cancel this stupid show, RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are acting like numbskulls.

*out *beep*

Beautiful. But what gives? Is it just too standard and bland? Was it not conveying its messages thoroughly? Was the permanent smiles creepy to the point where it gives off a Heaven's Gate or The Family International vibes and kids started to hail the ever building Roberto? WELL I doubt the ladder, but ya can never be too sure. What do you parents, older sibs, babysitters, teachers, or whoever reading this gotta say about ole Bobby Builder?

I have several theories...

1. People might find it boring. It sticks to the same format every episode without exception and has its fair share of familiar jokes.
2. The characters. They are fun, but aside from Bob, not very three-dimensional. People might find it difficult to get attached to them, in particular the scarecrow who is kind of an *beep*
3. It has been running for a VERY long time. Fireman Sam recently went down from a 6.5 to 6.4.
3B. And since it has been on for so long (although not nearly as much as shows like, yep, Fireman Sam, and Postman Pat), there are SOME things which have changed. Different voice actors (the most serious change being the one for Bob, since Pat Morrissey for whatever reason, sadly was fired). The animation is also DRAMATICALLY different in the current incarnation. It switched to CGI in the early 2010's, but the last straw for a lot of people was when the show returned in 2015 and made Bob look like some goddamn humanoid monster or something. I think lots of old fans have stopped watching the new episodes because of that.
4. It's aimed very specifically at kids, with very few adult jokes in the episodes. Which might have some write it off as cheesy, sugarcoated crap.

Personally, I like the show. I took a nostalgia trip and watched the pilot a while ago, and was surprised at how much humor there was in it.
