the soundtrack

Does anybody know any of the artists featured in this film? I'm especially curious to know the artist of the song playing around 5-8 minutes in the beginning of the film. Although I'm more than pessimistic about receiving any feedback on this, still thanks in advance! (:

According to this site (which is in Japanese), one of those songs was by a group called "AnzenBANDO." The Amazon.co.jp link in the GOD SPEED area takes you to one of their CDs. I can't confirm it firsthand though because I do not own the CD.

If you click on the artist's name, you get this page:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/exec/obidos/search-handle-url?_encoding=UTF8&search-type=ss&index=music-artist&field-artist=%E3%81%82%E3%82%93%E3%81%9C%E3%82%93%E3%83%90%E3%83%B3%E3%83%89

It shows a number of their CDs.

I found that i got more useful results by romanizing the name (drop the final "O")

a quick run through google translation, and the link Joshua provided sheds much more light on the issue. Provided at the bottom of the section are the song names in Japanese. Unfortunately, they probably wont help you find the music

Although this reply comes several years after your post, I have watched a trailer of this documentary film online and could verify one song as being Anzen Band's "Ikura Mattemo". It was easy for me to verify this since my father was their lead guitarist. The song is on the band's debut album titled: Album A. This album features a heavier energetic rock sound than the second album which followed after he left the band. The second album has its charms also, though noticeably different by being more mellow, jazzy, and heavy at the same time. They are both very cool albums in my opinion, however, listen with your own ears then decide for yourself. His younger brother filled the position of the lead guitarist for the second album titied: Fushigi Na Tabi. A live album was also realeased, long after the band had broke up, which features performances spanning the years 1974 - 1976.

I will try to get a copy of the movie and ask him if he knows of any of the other artists whos songs were featured on the movie. He as well as his brother, continue to play guitar to this day.

From the trailer link below, "Ikura Mattemo" can be heard at between 0:53 - 1:16 seconds.
