i've been waiting to see this movie for years and finally got my hands on a copy. what else can i say but...wow. this movie is filled with optical illusions and beautiful scenery all enveloped inside a story inside a story inside a story. if you've seen it you know what i mean. if not, what are you waiting for?

i agree with you. it's simply Wow. i've never even seen a movie like this. not even the comparison to 'waking life' is appropriate- this is an ordinary movie. sometimes the sea that thinks feels a little bit pretentious but mostly just amazes you every way.
one thing though. at some parts of this movie i got kind of scared.. or.. i got the feeling that i got lost in my own mind. can't explain it well in english :)
maybe it's just me. but i felt confused (in the good way) for some days after i watched 'the sea that thinks.
