crush-savage brawl

remember when Crush was eliminated from the Rumble and then was being interviewed in the back? and then Savage attacked him and a backstage brawl erupted....but it was cut out of the anthology DVD of it.

reply

Huh? I have the original copy of this on vhs. Crush is clearly eliminated, but there's no interview segment with him. I'm confused....

reply

well i have the Coliseum video version of it before i got the DVD set and on the VHS version before Adam Bomb comes out Ray Rougeau interviews Crush in the back and Savage comes out of nowhere in his street clothes and bashes his head on a steel door and then it cuts out. but its not on the anthology set

Thanks for clearing that up.

How much is the anthology set? I have nowhere near enough to buy it now, well I haven't even seen it in stores around here yet.

I've got all 21 Royal Rumbles on vhs though. 2000-2008 on PPV, and the rest from ebay. 1990-1993, and 1996 are Coliseum Home Videos. Some of my ebay tapes have somewhat bad quality, but better than nothing....

I bought the Wrestlemania Anthology set a few years ago, fresh, for $300! I got WM 22 from PPV, and I don't have WM 23 yet, but the dvd is out, and a little cheaper.

Does the Royal Rumble anthology set have any extras? Do they still blur out the WWF logos on some shows?

reply

I got the anthology set for like 215 at best buy when it came out, the WWF attitude logo is blurred out from 1998 to 2002 but theyre doing a better job not making it so noticable, but its the most annoying in the 2000 edition cause of the logo on the door at the entrance set in MSG cause whenever they hold a ppv there they have the camera always face the entrance. There is also no extras whatsoever just the ppvs in their entirety, but since you have them on vhs you might have a couple of matches missing from the 1989 rumble that are included onthe dvd

Something else I noticed about the 1994 Royal Rumble was how the pre-recorded comments before the Rumble match are also edited out of the DVD on the Anthology set. This was supposed to be shown right after the Casket match between Yokozuna and Undertaker. It featured Macho Man Randy Savage, Jeff Jarrett, Tatanka, Diesel, Doink w/Dink, Shawn Michaels, and Lex Luger. I don't know why this was edited, but this was one of the best parts about the Rumble from back in the day.

reply

could it be that some of the extra stuff from the old coliseum home videos had a water-mark saying "coliseum home video exclusive" maybe they're not allowed to include that footage, when it's being distributed by other parties...

I have know idea... just throwin it out there...
