Confused about one small thing...?

Okay so I finally got around to watching this movie after more then a few friends recommended it and I must say I was not disappointed. They warned me though that it might take more then one viewing to fully understand everything. But for me, it was pretty well understood on just one viewing. Only one thing confused me a bit.

The scene in which Sophie brings both Sgt.Lee and Sgt.Oh into what I guess was some kind of meeting room and gives them their depositions to look over (the first time she hands them to the wrong person and quickly fixes her mistake). And then one of the North (or maybe South?) raises his voice, asking why they were called here and Lee gets upset and smashes his fist onto the table. Then all of a sudden Sgt.Oh pushes the table into Lee, knocking him to the floor and throws an almighty tantrum. Ranting about how Lee is a traitor and 'all hail our leader so and so.' 0_0 His outburst made me jump.

Now, I thought he was just doing this for the benefit of Sophie and the other North soldiers with him. Making it look like he truly despised one of the South like Lee and that the thought of beings friends with one of the South soldiers was ridiculous. Is this correct? Was he just faking the whole rage at Lee so his 'fake' story about Sgt.Lee walking in and starting the shootout could hold up?

I'd like to hear other opinions too but my guess is the same as yours. Also Sophie later states to Lee that his throath has no signs of being strangled, and I thought this might be Sophie telling that she knows Oh didn't strangle seriously.

Wait! Does this also mean putting out doesn't get you love?

Apparently this has already been discussed: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0260991/board/flat/55558055?p=1

He's doing it because Sgt.Lee is about the crack under the pressure. Which would probably cost Sgt. Oh's life and put Sgt.Lee in Jail. They were friends 'till the very end. He maintained the story in the disposition(s). If Sgt. Oh did this to stay or alive or just to "save" Sgt.Lee isnt clear though.

One of the best anti-war movie I've seen.

Lee was about to crack, he was weeping and Oh could see his friend was about to give up and smashed the table over and all so that the situation could be put off, he knew the Northern soldiers would have left afterward and both stories would hold up because they'd never really be looked into.

Oh and Lee were friends until the end, Lee was about to spill the beans under all the pressure and Oh faked his tantrum to keep Lee quiet and make their depositions hold up. Pretty awesome scene, I was touched because even in that situation, they were still friends.
