This movie is pure bull****

Okay, first off I saw this movie when it came out on MTV and I was p*ssed off. Because they made Laramie look like a town of complete trash, All dirt roads, Bums drinkin' and sittin on the sides of the streets.I was offended because firsthand I would know what the town looks like some of my family lives there and I used to. There are no bums, all of the roads arent dirt and people in Laramie are a whole lot nicer than they made it seem. This MTV movie was a waist of money, waist of my time. MTV didnt even bother to shoot on location. There a bunch of scumbags for doing this movie.
Oh BTW ...Im new here!

"they made Laramie look like a town of complete trash"

...You spelled 'waste' incorrectly. Also, it's "They're a bunch...not "There a bunch"

Sounds like white trash to me.

Does anyone know how I can see it? I missed it when it first aired.

Oh, I see.

I remember a couple of years ago, I went to the video store and they had 'Wasted'...it was another MTV movie. Maybe a video rental store near you has one. You would probably need to go to a big chain store, like Blockbuster.

reply

OK, i'll try that, thanks.

I suspect it was hte story that was appealing not the movie itself- so instead you should watch the Laramie Project a much better account of Matthew Shepard's murder

Nothing about what you said changed the fact that Matt is dead.. What is wrong with you?

reply

I just saw this movie. I grew up in Wyoming, and this movie is total Hollywood trash. It made him look like a city boy, and the rest look like southerners. The fake accents, and the "mamma" thing is wrong!!

The Laramie Project was a better movie, but still Hollywood. People just don't get the fact that Wyoming is not the south, and its not Hollywood. Its in the middle. The people speak correct english, keep up to date, and have good values. There are just a lot of bad apples that don't get those ideas, and ruin it for everyone else.

it was 1998. very sad that he was murdered so heinously that is the point of the movie people not the setting or the backstories, the murder and it's affects.

reply

I agree with you. The original poster completely missed the point of the movie. Besides, if something like that happened in my town, I'd be ashamed to have even lived there. I'd never defend the place.

reply

The Point of the movie doesn't justify showing complete disregard for the facts, if a Movie passes itself off a True Story it better atleats attempt to accurately depict it's setting.

as to the comment if you lived in a place where something like that happened you would be ashamed to have lived there and never defend the place.....well in that case almost every place in the US people should be ashamed of with that logic.

I have lived in Laramie my entire life I grew up with the guys who did it and am very close with one of their grandmother's who is the sweetest lady on the planet. If this crime had happened in a big city no one would have made a fuss but because it was done here all of a sudden it's the worst crime in the history of the planet. Not all Laramie people are violent or prejudice and I don't appreciate the comments or the movies that depict it as so. I had a very good upraising in this town that I am proud to call home and I am in no way prejudicial. So yeah there was more point to the story then what happened to matt. Yes it was unimaginably awful but it isn't fair to depict an entire town to be hateful ignorant unintellectual murderers just because of the actions of two.
