WHAT HAPPEND

what happend to the gundams, in the series wing zero does not have wings, in the movie it does

reply

Well when the movie came out I believe that the creators of the cartoon wanted to make a change to make the gundams and the mobile suits customs. The Deathscythe Hell Custom was the best, and Altron was really cool too, Heavyarms has one gun in the series but in the movie it has two guns, and Wing Zero Custom was not too good because of the angel wings they put. I thought it was still a F-14 like ship but instead the creator made it have angel wings. I think it's because it's been a year after the war against White Fang.

Death Scythe Hell Custom was pretty cool except for those stupid pointy feet. Heavyarms also had two guns in the series, as it was towards the end. Unless you're talking about how Heavyarms Custom had a gattling thing on each arm. I thought that the angel wings that they put on Wing Zero Custom were pretty cool, but I guess everyone has their own opinion.

Anywho, it seemed sort of odd to me with the whole change, but apparently there was a manga that was created to explain it. I think it was called "Gundam Wing: Blind Target", although I'm not sure because I never read it.

In the manga, "Gundam Wing Ground Zero" the angel wings are explained when Heero says he just came up with a really cool modification for his Gundam, and he wanted to see it through. That's just one of the many explainations... I hope that helps. If not...oh well...

Epyon WAS the best. I loved it. Anyway, in the movie i liked the wings on Zero. The other gundams i appreciated the changes on were heavyarms and sandrock! I never liked sandrock until this movie. Those blades were HUGE in this movie. Totally awesome. I also liked in the movie how they brought Zeches back in. I glad to see he lives. He was my favorite character along with Heero.

someone mentioned that according to the movie, the Gundams were changed prior to the events that transpired.

That's wrong. Look in the flashbacks (which take place just prior to the beginning of the series in most cases) you'll notice the Gundams apparantly always looked the way they do in EW.

Can you imagine being an artist on the Gundam Wing series? I mean, sure it'd be cool, but you'd probably want to try and 'shake things up a bit.' That's all they did here. The new designs are just a new take on the Gundam's look. There's not any true significance to it. Seriously, are you going to lose sleep over the fact that Zero has angel wings??

As for Epyon, who was definitely the coolest throughout the series, there would really be no place for it in Endless Waltz.

For one, who would pilot it? In the series it was Heero and then finally Zechs, but as you can see... Heero has Zero and Zechs the improved Tallgeese III (I think it's the III, not entirely sure on that designation...)

It would've been cool to have Zech's pilot the Epyon, but to allow for the plot he had to come back in the Tallgeese. Because it was the suit last used by Treize so it automatically is a visual representation of such. The first time we see the Tallgeese, we equate it with the possible revival of Khushrenada. Dekim Barton actually says, "It's Treize?" Yet, if you look carefully, you'll see that the Tallgeese has the same type heat rod that Epyon did, almost as if the artists were paying tribute to it, however simply.

reply

Treize also designed the Tallgeese III, however it's Mega Cannon was not prepared in time for it to see combat during the Eve Wars when T-2 did

reply

<hint> the suits are different because its an alternate take on the GW story <end hint>

reply

Yeah in this alternate universe the gundam at least prior to the final battle always looked like that. You actually see this for all the suits(including the dolls)

i like how the gundam looked except for the deathscythe when they changed from the old 2nd version in whinch it had 2 blades and the armor goes up and down and no pointy feet other than that it was cool

the tallgeese III is made from parts of tallgeese II and epyon and the Mercious and Vayate. look closely at it, it has epyons tail/heat whip weapon combined with mercious' sheild, Vayate's laser canon, and the body parts are an updated tallgeese. As for the look, the budget for endless waltz was higher than that of the shows episodes, so the could put more time and better detail into the overall look. why not improve the look of the gundams. most anime does this when turned into a movie.

if you watch a lot of anime that goes from series to film somthing always changes in some way like clothing, personalitys even voices
they arent upgrades as the film shows them at the start of project meteor

I read somewhere that the "Angel Wings" on Gundam Wing Zero was installed so that it travel through the earths atmosphere without it having to placed in a shuttle of some sort.

In the first and final episode of Gundam wing you can see the Wing Zero burning up as it enters the atmosphere.

Must say I loved the Mask touch they added to the Heavy Arms. I thought it was a brilliant idea and very subtle

reply

The new designs for the mobile suits were just that. NEW DESIGNS. Just another artists' rendition of the upgrades that they received towards the end of the series. Hajime Katok is the artist.
He has also drawn redesigns for the originals as well.
