Look, I totally understand hating movies made for adults that just plain suck. But this is Digimon...its made for kids ONLY. This isn't one of those weird "Your parents will like it, too!" deals. I'm not saying that this is a masterpiece or anything, but I realize it wasn't meant for me AT ALL.

You're correct in saying that the target audience of this movie is for the kiddies, yet teens, including myself and many others, enjoyed this movie. The silly jokes= comical to most. And as far as I'm concerned, I don't believe that I've heard the movie advertised as for a parents and kids movie. Eh, perhaps if they brought the rest of the Digimon movies to the US, you would appreciate them more since they get a little more mature and emotional. However, I doubt that will happen, unless Disney is that desperate (which I hope they are.)

Actually, the two movies and the short film that this movie was edited from were good. So is Digimon Adventure as a whole. However, the dubbed movie was just horrid. The jokes were unnecessary and they cut out any sign of characterization beyond stereotypes. I hope the real versions come soon. This theatrical release just made people think of DA as a Pokemon ripoff (which I can defend it's not if needed).

most anime, this one included, is not made only for kids. Many are derived from manga which can be quite mature if not more so than the anime.
shareits true if you compare this movie with the original Japanese one, this is pretty bad. the american producers just cut so many things out and added corny lines to the show so it would appeal to younger audiences. When i was a little younger i enjoyed this, but now since i downloaded the original movies i know their a lot better.
sharealtho i havnt seen the japanese anime of digimon i will agree with you.. .my frend who is a total anime fanatic and so is her sister showd me a bunch of animes.. like cardcaptors, which on tv in canada is for kids but the japanese movie 2 isnt/.... i havnt seen that many that are turned into eng. cept i DL'd yu gi oh.. but there are no eng. subns :( but yea.. the manga and japanime are more mature.. but hey, digimon still rocks.. no matter how much its for kids... cept season 4 :( it sucked!!! (srry for babbling but meh)
