Good Movie but Ridiculous

Overall i thought this was a good B rated movie... Great acting and a good hidden plot however the brutal beating of Milla and the lesbian scenes/corruption that was portrayed really made this movie awful. The beating scene is definetly something i dont want my kids or family to watch and the lesbian scenes were uncalled for they could have been cut all together or at least toned down becuase the truth of the matter is that lesbians offend me my family my religion and my lifesytle and seeing that provacative display of two woman sining like demons that they are was unpleasant and disturbing to view. Also i understand the movie is about betrayal and corruption but this movie just went too far...

Lesbians exist. Lots of things outside your Taliban views exists. Deal with it.
BTW you object to lesbin scenes, but not murder ? Are you a friend of Reverend Phelps ?

This is why it's a good idea to read the warning label on a film before you watch it. ;) And fortunately, your kids won't be seeing it because it's rated R, right? ;) I would certainly HOPE not!

I'm curious -- does illegal trafficking in guns offend you, your family, your religion, and your lifestyle, too? Because you left that one out. ;)

Seriously... films can depict things without endorsing them. You were watching a movie about members of the criminal underworld, engaged in double-crosses and triple-crosses and all manner of different things. They're not nice people, and a lot of the things that happen in the film are intentionally disturbing. You're not meant to come away feeling warm and fuzzy. It's meant to challenge people's sense of complacency, and our definitions of "good guys" and "bad guys." Sounds like it succeeded in its aim with you, too.

But if that's not something you can handle, I'd stick to the PG-13 fare from now on.

im sick and tired of reding posts like yours, may ye be forever damned for not accepting people or ..ahem, FICtional characters for who they are. Get a real life because yours sounds looney tunes.

Lesbians offend you, but murder, sex, drugs, etc....doesn't? I guess people are more concerned with gays these days, then they are loss of lives, doing drugs, and their daughters having pre-marital sex. Oh well.

This movie had one of the most realistic portrayals of battered wife syndrome I have ever seen. the beating was painful to watch, but added to the realism of the circumstance. It was intended to play on the viewers anger, horror and disbelief that a man would do that to another woman and that the woman would stay with a man like that after he had beaten her. But thousands of women do, and in startlingly similar circumstances. In fact, many women will die before they leave an abusive man. I don't honestly know why you would want to share this movie with your children until they had the maturity to understand the lesson it was trying to teach.

The lesbian scenes were minor and integral to the plot. She was using any means necessary, including having sex with women sympathetic to her plight, to have someone get rid of Al and get her out of her situation. The fact that she was open to lesbian sex early on only made her equal opportunity ploy that much more realistic. Your moralizing indicates you just didn't get it; any of it.

Let's be fair. This was a tough movie to watch. It had men severely beating women, a man threatening a women with facial mutilation, lesbianism, and it showed some hard, cold facts of life that really do exist. It was a much harder movie than any Rambo, Steven Seagal, James Bond, etc, movies I've ever seen.

Some people who went to see the movie might have liked seeing a woman being beaten by a man, some might have liked watching lesbians hooking up, and some might have liked watching the movie to see how other people live, and I'm sure there are many who have lives very similar to the people in the movie. This movie just showed the seedier side of humans, and there are many people out there who are like these characters and some are much worse.

I always say, a movie is just a movie. If I like it, I'll probably watch it sometime again in the future. If not, I won't watch it again. If I really don't like a movie, I'll stop watching it somewhere in the middle. Everybody has that option. If a movie offends, stop watching it. I wanted to see how it ended and I liked the ending. Sure, she was a b*tch and the ending was a surprise. I wasn't expecting the double and triple-crossing. But, in the end, she was on the beach, where she always wanted to be.

I'm guessing the original post is a joke. It would offend me if there were actually people as stupid and narrowminded as this on IMDb.
