Was this accurate regarding firearms accuracy? I would have guessed at that time, they were much less accurate that depicted.
And at the wedding with the handgun, I was thinking of duels more than a century later when pistol shots were hit or miss.

I'm not particularly knowledgeable about this - just wondering.

They weren't very accurate. You're right about that, but they did manage to hit things now and again. Also rifles existed in the late 17th century. They were much harder to load, but in turn they provided more accuracy. If it bothers you that much just figure that among the smooth-bore muskets are a rifle or two.

Or we can chalk it up to "poetic license" and let it go at that.
