The Hardest Word - spoilers-

Just let me say, I love this show, the acting is fantastic, the main characters are well rounded and very human.

Sometimes I find some of the show's tying up loose ends goes astray though.

In the hardest word, we find out Greta's father is behind the killings.

I can't understand though, why she left the victim tied up on the bed if she played no part in his death. Was the semen found on both the victims, the fathers? Why would the father kill Penn and Marvin? How did the father know Greta was going to secretly meet Marvin when they had no recent contact?

I just came here to say this story made no sense. First, since Carstairs, the earlier victim was moved, we don't even know if he was tied up the way the other guy was. But either way, was Greta knowingly having sex with child molesters? I mean it's not impossible to find out but really, how did she know. Plus these men (I'm confused about Shaugnessy, the guy who was killed that Marvin was looking into), these men were child molesters, yet they were "seduced" by Greta *an older woman* role playing, letting her tie them up and bite them??!!?? And so her father was following her waiting for her to have this type of sex and then kill the men? He's apologizing to his daughter so he's making the men she slept with look like they died having homosexual sex? Possibly to humiliate them; that's the only slightly logical reaso I can come up with for the semen, otherwise there is no real explanation for it.
And Frankie's discussion of Greta's DNA was hard to follow, she said it came from sweat---- where did she get Greta's sweat from. Frankie was supposed to have taken a swab so what was that all about? Plus someone started carving an S onto the cop's back, if the father didn't kill him, then who did that? And isn't it incredibly convenient that Greta managed to get involved in a case that she was so connected to? I just found this whole episode to be a mess.

I came here to complain about the same thing, that episode is weird.

Ugh! "Plot holes to drive a truck through." I re-watched this one today. I remember it from the past, so I was watching it with the knowledge of whodunnit. Yes, the writers truly wanted the audience to believe several points:

1. Greta found out that these men loved to rape adolescents. That was the type of men she was attracted to.

2. She seduced them and they let her tie them up, with no explanation of being drugged or hypnotised. They all suddenly got hard ons for an adult woman.

3. Greta's father knew exactly what she was up to, and killed the men right after she left them.

4. Semen from the same donor was found on both the victim from three years ago AND the new victim (Roman Barak) that opened the episode. Yet Grace explained that the semen was probably being bought from a sperm bank. Huh?

5. At the end, Boyd knew that Greta had left Roman Barak tied to a hotel bed, naked, and had sprinkled some strange man's semen all over him. Instead of arresting her and telling her that her career was over, he said, "See you tomorrow. We've got a lot of work to do."
