Hmmm...

I realized something. In the first movie, the metal fence-like thing was across the street from Chang's Market. But, in the third movie, that same fence-like thing was across from a cliff. Hmm..are there more than the one fence? Is Chang's on the opposite side? Another thing...if the initial Graboids hunt by sensing sound, why didn't they end up eating each other? And, if the Shreikers and A-- Blasters hunt by sensing heat, and also emit heat when they make sound, why don't they eat each other?

Maybe Graboids produce low-frequence sounds to recognize each other. In the end that would work the same as recognizing each other by vision. Shriekers and Ass-Blasters could be cold-blooded for all we know. Surely Mother Nature must have divised some way to prevent a basic error like this.

Of course, cannibalism is also not uncommon in the natural world, although it doesn't really seem to fit with the creatures' lifestyle, which seems to be focused on expanding numbers (although El Blanco did eat that Assblaster).

Yeah, maybe Graboids produce low-frequence sounds so as to recognize each other. In the end that would work the same as recognizing each other by vision when in range of vision. Those Shriekers and also those Ass-Blasters may be cold-blooded for all we can guess at. Surely Mother Nature must have divised some way to prevent a basic error like this from happening.
