More proof that RELIGION (not money, not man) is the root of ALL EVIL!!!

I can't belive these people. This type of garbage makes me ASHAMED to share the title "human being" with others like me. If you want to make a point, you DO NOT do it by promoting violence. Way to spit in the face of everything the church stands for, dumb***es.

I especially like how religious figures USE their roles in the church to maniuplate and control everyone ELSE'S lives. You know what? It's a free country, we'll do what we like thanks. If you don't agree with our opinions, too ****ing bad! Is it affecting YOUR life? NO! Then p*** off and leave us be. Instead of worrying about how WE live OUR lives, worry about bettering your own! And promoting violence in the faces of people who, in reality, are probably doing their fetus's GOOD by aborting them, is the WORST way to spread your beliefs and ideas.

If you're religious, and you not only BELIEVE but SUPPORT the beliefs of these people, get out of the church right now and join the KKK. Because it's obvious where these people's principles REALLY originated.

Know what's REAL funny about my opinion here? I'M ATHEIST.

Simple Simon said more, and said it better, than most Christians could. I'm a Christian, and that makes me sad. Simon, I don't know where you stand on God, and why you don't believe, but man, I'm completely with you on this. I actually BELIEVE the God I'm supposed to be following, and I think Jesus had a few things to say about violence, not to mention the hypocrites running the churches. I wish more Christians listened to him. I commend you on your comments and I'd also like to ask why no Christians have pointed this out. Jesus said 'Blessed are the peacemakers.' Well, if that's what it takes, Simon, you're blessed, brother.

All religion that has a means to enforce/force their belief is not a true religion but a cult. The cult mentality is want the people depicted in this work represent.

Jesus Christ is DEAD, move on.

"Is it affecting YOUR life? NO! Then p*** off and leave us be."

Was slavery affecting everyone? No, then they should have pissed off and leave the slave owners be?

This is the only part of your post I disagree with you completely with. Something not affecting you dosn't mean it should be left alone.

And promoting violence in the faces of people who, in reality, are probably doing their fetus's GOOD by aborting them, is the WORST way to spread your beliefs and ideas.

Well disagree with it being probably good, but your correct, using violence is the worst way to get your point across. It's more seeable with Muslims since their founder started the religion with the sword. But they are claiming to care for the unborns, but have no proublem killing others?

Other then that, i agree with your post simon.

If what these people do "spits in the face of everything the church stands for" then how is it proof that religion is the root of all evil? People interpreting religion to suit their own perverse ends does not explicitly mean that religion is to blame for all "evil".

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I especially like how religious figures USE their roles in the church to maniuplate and control everyone ELSE'S lives.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

And political figures and scientific figures use their positions of power to try to tell other people how to live their lives as well. It's a human condition to try to express our views and push them on others. The fact that you started this thread proves that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Being a free country does not mean people can do what they like. If it did, suicide, euthanasia, drug use and drinking underage would be legal.

Like somebody else already pointed out just because something doesn't directly affect your life doesn't mean you can't have an opinion about it and try to change it. Look at all the white people that opposed slavery while it was still prominant. And guess what? Alot of those early anti-slavery advocates were considered Christian-extremists.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
And promoting violence in the faces of people who, in reality, are probably doing their fetus's GOOD by aborting them, is the WORST way to spread your beliefs and ideas.

Agree with 100%.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once again, you speak against the title of your own thread. If these people and their beliefs and actions which you describe as evil should leave the church, aren't you implying that the church itself isn't evil? Because if religion truly is the root of all evil then the these people should stay in the church and religious people who lead good lives and are kind and tolerant should abandon religion. Right?

I think we could have all guessed that you are an atheist.

Congratulations! You're an Atheist! This makes you very unique. So does faith play into your life at all? Of course it doesn't, science explains it all. You were present at the Big Bang and call tell us what started it and what existed outside of it before it began?

What hump?

Before I reply, why don't you go ahead and read some philosophy - even the great hero of Atheism will do nicely - try some Nietzsche The Antichrist, Beyond Good and Evil or Thus Spoke Zarathustra would do nicely.

Even better, read some Kierkegaard or even some Hegel or Kant.

Heck, even read some Richard Hawking, Einstein, Dawkins or Hitchens - crap, even Carl Sagan.

You'll begin to understand how reason and science and thought are shifty things. Why don't you try being an "honest pagan" at least as most of these men were - I can respect that but not puerile rambling.

I understand Christianity, I wouldn't expect a non-Christian to, but you should at least know what you think before try to engage someone in debate - ideally you'd even know your opponent's position, you seem to know neither.

Get back to me in a few months after you've educated yourself - I've been on these boards in some way or another for 10 years, I'll be here a while longer.

I'm completely calm. You confuse dedication and passion with lack of peace. Whereas with yourself your soul is in turmoil but is most likely covered with the carelessness of a child.

I don't know your age. Perhaps you are a child. But I urge you not to be. We have few men in this world regardless of their physical age.

Holy Bible, 1 Corinthians 13:11-13:

When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

You can weave words or documents ie the bible to suit most arguments but there are just as many words in the bible to refute them.

I'm a Church goer and anti abortion, I therefore disagree with your ignorant statement that the abortion of a fetus is doing the fetus ANY good. But I certainly do not believe I am worthy to be anyone's moral judge or executioner.

Also not sure what the KKK's stand on abortion is but unless they've changed their pet hates from African Americans, Jews and Catholics then I am not sure how many anti abortionists could apply.

In short I believe in your sentiment but not in your delivery and to quote the bible - He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone" (this is not pointed towards your post but the killers of abortionists)

reply

Guess what? Nietzsche also believe like you and he went insane when he was in his early 40s.

I used to be a secular humanist just like you.

Why is it so surprising that you're an Atheist - being an atheist is currently the fad - you're completely unoriginal.

The root of all evil is the heart of man Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

Man corrupts everything he touches, Christians are still sinners - we make mistakes and stumble - just like the rest of the world but we have a way to know the truth.

After all, you're an Atheist - do you realize even Richard Dawkins the great Atheist apologist had to admit that he can't prove God doesn't exist?

Wow science does have its limits - too bad all the Atheists weren't present at the Big Bang, they could explain everything - oh, yeah, they already can - and it's led to men like Hitler (who by the way if you've read Mein Kampf you'd realize was NOT a Christian - he was a secular humanist and a misantrope just like you.

Here's the best way NOT to make a good religious or atheist point. Quote Adolf Hitler and Richard Dawkins.

Just like you can't prove that The Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't exist.

For someone who advises others to read the works of influential philosophers, you have a very weak grasp of logic.

reply

Yes Dawkins had a weak grasp of logic.

My main issue is that people have to realize that there is a burden of proof question and a question of whether any position can be proven let alone whether it is proven.

Simply calling someone stupid or illogical isn't logic. Things have to be examined honestly.
