Story line help...

I finally saw this movie, but I'm confused by a few things.

1. Who are the 2 people killed when Ace is beaten and almost killed? Why did he go back to that apartment (I assume it's his apartment) when he gets the call that his girlfriend is about to give birth to his child?

2. Were Rico's actions when he meets up with Mitch premeditated, or does he just seize the opportunity to grab the 14 kilos of coke? At first, he seems all set to go along with Mitch's plan, and then turns and shoots him?

3. I've looked through the posts that explain some of the connections to the "true" story, but I don't know who Alpo, AZ, etc. correlate to. Any additional info would be appreciated. Thanks.

1. The two people were people were friends of the family. It wasn't his apartmnet, it was theirs. He kept his safe and some of his coke at their house and he bascailly paid her rent by doing so.
2. His actions weren't premeditated. The main reason why he did what he did was because he felt left out. Even though the bricks were for Mitch's brother's ransom, Rico flet like they were keeping him out. But feeling left out is probably the main reason, but greed had some to do with it.
3.There's a doctumentary called "Game Over" vol. one and it explains thier whole story. Rich Porter who is Mitch is dead, but both Alpo and AZ are still alived. I hope I helped you out

You did, very much. Thanks. I have to say that those two parts (my questions 1 and 2) are weaker parts of the movie. I don't remember the idea of that apartment being developed, and the timeline is very strange. Why would he go to that apartment when he hears that his girlfriend is about to have a baby? The movie starts with that short segment of Ace with Mitch and Rico and getting the phone call, loops back around and re-connects with his entering the apartment and continues from there with the beating. And, Rico's motivation is so confusing because it happens so fast. It's developed that he's untrustworthy and becoming unreliable, but the trigger seems insubstantial. I'll have to pick this up on DVD and watch it more closely. I wonder if the disc has subtitles, because I had A LOT of trouble with the dialog. The audio separation from the background music was pretty bad, and there was a lot of mumbling and rapid-fire dialog.

Which character corresponds to Alpo (I'm guessing Rico from the other posts) and AZ (I guess Ace)? As Azie Faison is the original screenwriter, I'm assuming it's his story (as Ace).

Thanks again.

Alpo is Rico, Az is Ace, and he wrote it because Rich Porter is dead, and Alpo is locked up.

The reason he went back to the apartment is because his Aunt (Elise Neal) called him over. He was unaware that it was a set up by Calvin and his boy.
