why did mitch get locked up?

why did he get locked up? he couldn't have gotten caught for a body, since he wan't gone that long, and all Ace said was "Mitch backed up his words?" but what for?

reply

film was vague..but the hinted that it had to do with involvement in the killing......maybe that they thought he was accessory...

it wa sunclear...

reply

If you turned you head from the t.v.you probably missed it.One of mitch's drug dealers was robbed a stick up kid. They tracked the kid down, and killed him.

reply

yeah sugarsuggs..BUT......I guess they used creative license to write that he only did a year for that....

reply

no, the reason he only did a year is that he was able to somehow beat the case. i'm not being a smart ass, but it is possible to beat a murder charge, especially in a big city

Also, Back in NYC in the 80's...Under certain circumstance, dudes did small bids for a murder rap. Rich Poter (in the movie named "Mitch") was prob. in trail for being an accessory. The murder laws got real strict around the 90's.I knew a dude that murder somebody in the 80's and he only did a 5 yr bid...

reply

and you should also remember, he was NOT the trigger man

"I ain't no suit-wearin' businessman like you... you know I'm just a gangsta I suppose..."

Mitch beat the murder case. If you rewatch the scene where Mitch gets out and him and Az meet up on the street and Az gives Mitch the red car, either a Saab or BMW, I believe. They both get in the car and drive off to talk some business. While they drive off, the DJ, whose voice you here in the opening moments of the movie, as well as thoughout the movie, says something like "My man Mitch is back, after beating that murder rap, you can't keep a good man down".

reply

montana2003.... You are absolutely right. I think the voice was that of Busy Bee, And it was a red BMW

Also, Murder cases involving gang on gang murders are handled less strictly than say murder cases involving the homicide of innocent civilians.
