The body in the Lantana bush

this had been bugging me for ages. At the very opening of the film the camera pans slowly up from the Lantana bush and across the body of a dead woman. Now, I know we assume that that is Barbara Hershey, but the camera's movement suggests that we are firstly in the bush that is outside the house of the woman LaPaglia is having an affair with, and also as far as I could recall, it actually didn't look much like Hershey at all.
If it isn't her, who is it and why is the body there?

this may seem like a really stupid question and I haven't had chance to see the film a second time, so perhaps it would all become clear then. But if anyone can shed any light I would be grateful.

The camera is panning through the lantana bush near Barbara Hershey's body, not outside of Jane's house.

To me it did look like Barbara Hershey's character's body. You'll notice the corpse had on black hose. She always wore black and she had on black hose the night she died.

The movie is all about the body in the Lantana bush, but it doesn't start there chronologically. All the scenes are interwieved to get to this final scene of finding her body in the bush. Excellent movie and songs. Moving.
