Ghost Lady in red

The ghost lady in red that Junko sees at the restaurant table is a main character in another Kurosawa movie: Retribution (Sakebi, 2006).
I didn't see all of Kurosawa's movies, maybe this ghost appears in other of his movies. That wouldn't surprise me at all, along with other details that maybe reappears in his movies.
Maybe this ghost-lady-in-red can be seen in other director's movies, or is a character in some japanese novel.
Junko seems to be especially scared by this ghost without panicking out loud.
