I was watching the film on fast-forward by the time he showed up (having already invested about an hour of my life in it, I wanted some sort of closure before I gave up entriely) but yes, I did stop fast-forwarding and watched the Ghost-Rider-on-the-horse segment in real time. Yes, that was by far the best part of the film (although admittedly this is not saying much).

Incidentally, watching 'Ghost Rider' on fast-forward actually seems to improve the film quite a bit, as you cannot hear the terrible, hackneyed, absoutely dreadful dialogue. Was the script actually written by a committee of seven year old children, does anyone know? That would seem to explain quite a lot.

I agree with this comment. The dialogue was dreadful to listen to. Especially in Cage's fake Texas accent. Horrific.

Good idea!! In fact, Nicholas Cage was dreadful in this film. The Horse man and the young johnny blaze are interesting characters, Cage not. I dont understand why the producers have not noticed that Cage wasnt fitting in the story... Yesterday Ive seen a documentary which shows Woody Allen trading actors not suitable for his films....

In all fairness, Sam Elliot is more cool and kick ass than not just Cage, but 99% of Hollywood. So anyone would have suffered by comparison. ^_^

I actually thought Cage did a good job with a difficult character. It's not always easy transitioning a comic character to the big screen (Constantine, Green Lantern, etc), and GH is tougher than most. In fact I thought I'd hate the film, but I actually enjoyed it a lot. Sadly, the sequel was just... not good. Avoid that.

Sam Elliot rocks in everything ... just ask "The Dude" or "El Duderino" :D

reply

I did! That was a beautiful image!!

Sounds like I'm going to be the one who's read GR's actual comics..The "horse guy"'s name is Carter Slade. He's known as the "Caretaker" to the Ghost Riders..like their mentor. He has some form of backstory in the comics but not really enough that could support a full film. The main two Ghost Riders in GR's history are Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch. The Brothers Ghost Rider
