This movie's rating went down after Nostalgia Critic's review

I noticed that too, it was a 6.5 before his review I believe. I usually like the NC but he did overreact about this movie, it's cheesy and some of the animation could have been better but it's not a bad movie. I love the music and the background art is extremely good, not to mention Felix himself is a likable character.

7/10, the kid in me wants to give it a 10.

He went way, way overboard.

There is nothing wrong with this goofy animated movie. Just like you, I was watching the NC review, and I thought to myself, this guy is spitting poison just because he likes it.

Maybe he exaggerated a bit, but you also have to consider the fact that NC is a fictional character, not a real person, and the main goal of the character is to make people laugh, so of course he exaggerates his liking/disliking of a movie.

Considering the film: I admit that maybe NC went a bit too far, but on the other hand, most of his points are still true because the film is still bad. It might be on of the better 80s-non-Disney-movies as it doesn't copy Disney in every nuance, but if you see movies like this, you just know why Disney was the market-leader in animation for decades: because they still were absolutely superior over most of their contestants animation-, story-, gag- and character-wise.

I think it's a massive piece of *beep* personally but it's not really dougs fault it's just fan boys of his who probably haven't seen the film

I first tried to watch this movie when I was 7, and I couldn't finish it. It's pretty horrid.

It's not perfect, but it's not the terrible film that he made it out to be.

I randomly decided to watch this movie today after not seeing it since the 1990s. I thought I was going to enjoy it because of nostalgia. Man! I was so wrong! This movie was horrible! NC was on the money with this.
