Science can defeat magic

I like the idea that science can be just as powerful as sorcery ever since the Gargoyles series of the 90s made that point. That was a smart show regardless if it was for kids or not. I hate the idea that magic is the most powerful and is the answer for everything. That's for fantasy stories and for the hopeless romantics. Science has gotten us further than any magic. But I guess that's this show's theme so I can't argue. Same with the ABC show Once Upon a Time. Get with the time uncle.

You do realize that magic doesn't exist in real life, right?
And this is a fictional cartoon show?

Way to kill the fun pal. The point is they should give credit to human achievement because we rely on science everyday and not magic. Magic is oooohhhhh special and unique blah blah that we have to believe it's the greatest.

Yeah, sometimes I think Uncle's assertion of magic must defeat magic is annoying, but as much as I like Gargoyles, I think a better example of science countering magic is in Ghostbusters. If Uncle ever cross paths with Egon Spengler I'm sure he would teach Uncle a thing or two about science countering magic and the supernatural.

Yup, both the Ghostbusters movies and show (The Real Ghostbusters) were great.

Yes, they were. I just watched a few episodes of The Real Ghostbusters on Youtube the other night.

The cartoon was really deep, dark and serious. Sometimes even scary. So RGB was very similar to Gargoyles in many ways. Glad it went on for 7 seasons with over 100 eps. Funny every once in awhile they would cross the streams just because there were no other options and thinking they were going to die. On their board, someone mentioned that Venkman is the funniest person. Everything he said was funny. Show had good humor as well. Good science and everything.

Yeah, RGB and Gargoyles are among my favorite cartoons along with JCA and many others. I guess with so many RGB episodes out there it might be a challenge for me to watch a lot of them again to relive their glory, thank God for Youtube still. I agree also, that Peter is a card most of the time. I bet that Shendu, his Demon Sorcerer brethren, and Tarakudo and his Oni Generals would all be considered Class Sevens like Gozer under Ghostbusters' standards.
