For me who have yet to read the comic books...

Yes, it's sad. I have not read the Corto Maltese comic books, something I really want to do. The problem is I can't get them in swedish and they are nowhere to be found in english (and I can't read finnish or french).

But I still think Corto is a cool character (carving his own fate line is a nice thing to do) so I wonder if any true, die hard Corto fan could tell me if it's a good idea to purchase these films or are they a disgrace to everything Corto stands for?

No they're hardly a disgrace and quite worth checking out even though some of the english voices doesn't always do the characters justice, Du kan hitta svenska versioner om du letar lite på nätet, jag har varje Corto Maltese seriebok som gets ut i Sverige förutom en som går att få tag på i Uppsalas stadsbibliotek. Just couldn't resist saying that in Swedish

I have every Corto Maltese album that's been translated to swedish, look around on the internet. http://www.tradera.com is your friend. Oh, and the movies are hardly a disgrace, you should check them out too, aswell. :)
