Now that we've (generally) seen all the competitors...

Who's your pick to win it all?

I'm going to have to go with Lockjaw, based primarily off Hutson's experience and record. He's won twice with Diesector. His bots are always tough as nails and easy to maneuver, and I see more of the same in Lockjaw.

Bronco looks pretty stout. It seems it can flip most any of the bots and is pretty well protected.

Tombstone seems to be the most deadly.

I really see these two in the finals and it will depend on whether Tombstone can damage the protective sides covering the wheels of Bronco or not.

With the destruction that Tombstone put on Counter Revolution, I do not see anyone defeating it (unless it gets stuck or just breaks down).

The same with Bronco.

As long as they do not have to face each other in an earlier round, that is my prediction.

Heh. Counter Revolution surprised me. Before that match I commented CR wouldn't last 30 seconds. He lasted 37. Overachiever. :D

I don't think he really lasted that long.

Tombstone basically was sitting there after a couple of hits had incapacited CR and then I heard him say "Do you want me to hit him again?" and then did so.

It was already over, that was just the icing on the cake.

I think the actual time might have been closer to 20 sec of actually being able to battle.

reply

I don't they ever declared an exact time. But they stopped the match at 37 seconds. You could see the clock beside one of the drivers at 2:23, and traditionally knockouts are recorded according to when the clock was stopped.

20 or 37, That was one terrible flimsy bot.

Tombstone is my first pick, then Bronco. Warhead for a surprise comeback.

reply

I think Tombstone definitely seems like the one capable of inflicting the most damage. I've always been a fan of the flipbots though, Toro was one of my favorites, and Bronco showed promise.

Flip bots are always fun. :)

I considered Tombstone. Tombstone has a devastating weapon, arguably the nastiest in the competition. But as the owner even said, Tombstone is just a weapon. It has no defenses if another bot gets in on the side or rear. If a flip bot or a grappler catches Tombstone on the flank, Tombstone is in big trouble.

My come from behind pick failed :(

reply

But it failed spectacularly. Great fight, one of the best I've seen.

But, Lockjaw has no weapons to speak of.

I have to side with the judges and say that Tombstone is my favorite. I just don't see anything that can beat it.

Well, so much for Lockjaw. Overkill got hold of the tire and never let go.
